
Road Closures
🚧 Road Restrictions & Closures – Wells City Carnival 2025
To help the magic of Carnival night run smoothly and safely, please take note of the following road restrictions and closures in place from Friday 14th November to Saturday 15th November.
🅿️ Parking Restrictions (From 06:00 on Friday 14th to 04:00 on Saturday 15th):

Tor Street (B3139) – No Parking. This is the main access route into Wells from Bishops Park Way (A371) and serves as an emergency exit route.

Jocelyn Drive – No Parking.
🛒 Morrisons Supermarket – Access via the Glastonbury Road (Tincknells) roundabout will remain open until 6:00pm on Friday 14th.
🚫 Road Closures
From 12:00pm (Midday) – Friday 14th November

Wand Road & Knight Road – Resident & visitor access only.
From 6:00pm – Friday 14th November
The following roads will be closed to all traffic:

Bishops Park Way

Strawberry Way
-
Tucker Street
-
Chamberlain Street
-
Sadler Street
-
High Street
-
Broad Street
-
Priory Road
-
And surrounding roads within the city centre.
Additional Major Closures:

Glastonbury Road (A39) – Closed in both directions between Tin Bridge Roundabout (Glastonbury) and Tincknells Roundabout (Wells). Diversions in place.

Bishops Park Way (towards Shepton Mallet) – Closed. Follow official diversion signs.
🏠 Access for Residents
Residents of Crandon Springs Care Home, Fletcher House, Wand Road Estate, and Knight Road Estate will be escorted through closures by carnival marshals after 6:00pm.

🔁 Official Diversion Route
All diversions will be clearly signposted. The official route is via Green Ore (B3135).
