Carnival Safety Guidelines
Carnivals are exciting, colourful, and full of energy — but with large crowds and moving vehicles, safety is key. To ensure everyone has a fun and safe experience at Wells City Carnival, please follow these important guidelines:
🚫 Restricted Areas
-
Assembly, rest, and dispersal zones are for participants only — they are not spectator areas and can be hazardous. Performances do not take place in these zones.
👣 Where to Watch
-
Please enjoy the Carnival from the pavement or behind the safety barriers.
-
For your safety, do not sit on the edge of the pavement with feet in the road.
-
Avoid walking in front of, behind, or alongside the moving entries — especially at the end of the parade.
-
Never run into the road, cross between floats, or enter the path of moving vehicles to collect coins.
🙏 Respecting Participants & Safety Teams
-
Do not interfere with or obstruct any floats, performers, or their support crew.
-
Only throw coins into official collection carts, not at floats or performers.
-
Listen to and respect instructions from marshals, judges, and emergency services — especially in urgent situations.
🔊 Noise Warning
-
Carnival entries can be very loud, especially in built-up areas. We recommend bringing ear protection, particularly for young children.
Thank you for helping keep Wells City Carnival safe and enjoyable for everyone!
